Men's Division - 18 years old and up

High School Division  - Ages 14-18, enrolled in high school for Fall 2026

$200/team (3-5 players per team); teams required to wear same color of shirt

Minimum of 6 teams needed to run tournament; Maximum of 8 teams

Pool Play - 3 game guarantee

Prize Information

Men's Division Winner - $400/High School Division WInner - $300

2nd Place Both Divisions - Tickets to local sports team events

3 pt Contest - $20/person - Winner receives 50% of entry total

Dunk Contest - $20/person - Winner receives 50% of entry total

All proceeds from this tournament benefit the HCC Women's Basketball Program

 

3 on 3 Tournament Rules

1.  Home Team will shoot for ball at the start of each game

2. Each game will go to 21 points or 15 minutes long.

3. Playing by 2’s and 3’s
 
4. After a basket has been scored, a player must put the ball in play behind the 3 pt line.
 
5. All held balls will be put into play behind the 3 pt line, alternating possession.
 
6. On defensive rebounds or steals, players must return the ball across the 3 pt line before a 
basket may be attempted. If a basket is shot without doing so, it will result in a turnover.
 
7. Fouls will be called. A foul called in the act of shooting will result in 1 free throw. The free 
throw will be worth the value of where the foul occurred. A 2pt basket means 1 free throw worth 2 
points. A 3pt basket means 1 free throw worth 3 points. A non-shooting foul will result in 
possession at top of key. Any non-shooting fouls that occur once a team reaches 15 points will be 
awarded a foul shot worth 2 points.
 
8. All free throws will have 2 defensive players on line and 1 offensive plus the shooter. We will 
go with rule upon the release. Players behind the foul shooter need to wait until it hits the rim 
just like shooter.
 
9. The 3 second rule still applies on offense.
 
10. Substitutions may be made after a made basket or an out of bounds play.
 
11. Each team is only allowed one 30-second timeout.
 
12. If the game ends in a tie after regulation time, there will be a one-minute overtime period. 
 
Possession determined by home team shooting for ball.
 
13. Ties at the end of first overtime period will go next point wins.

All players on your team are required to wear the same shirt color. Please select the color of your shirts from the list below.

Please select only the team entry fee ($200) option below if you are planning on paying cash for the 3 point shot and dunk contests. If you know what contests your team members would like to participate in, feel free to choose the pricing option that fits the total number of contests your team will join.

To Participate in the 3 on 3 tournament you are required to review and sign the Assumption of Risk form in the field below. If your age is 18+ you may sign for yourself. If you are ages 14-17, please have a parent or guardian sign this section before submitting your entry form. Thank you.

Assumption of Risk and Agreement to Participate in the 2026 Men’s 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament sponsored by HCC Women’s Basketball Participating in physical activities involves certain inherent risks of injury. Playing indoor basketball will includes coordination, agility, and cardiovascular fitness. While it is reasonably safe if guidelines are followed, some elements of risk are inherent to the physical activity. To help reduce the likelihood of injury, participants are expected to comply with the following rules: • All participants are to wear the proper footwear and appropriate basketball clothing • All participants are expected to follow all posted safety rules • All participants are to be attentive during instruction and activity of the game By signature below as the guardian you are affirming the following: You have reviewed this information with your child and your child understands the importance of following the activity and behavior rules. You have read the preceding information and acknowledge and assume the risks associated with you or your child’s participation in the 2026 Men’s 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and affirm you or your child are voluntarily participating in the activity. You understand that the College recommends that you or your child consult a physician before engaging in physical activity to ensure fitness to participate. You understand you are responsible for yourself or your child’s medical expenses. In the event of medical emergency, you provide permission for transport by ambulance and medical attention as deemed warranted for you or your child. HCC staff will contact individuals named as emergency contacts. Waiver of Liability In consideration of being permitted to participate in the basketball tournament, on behalf of myself, my family, my heirs, and my assigns, I hereby release and hold harmless Hagerstown Community College its Trustees, and employees, volunteers, coaches, owners and lessees from and against any and all liabilities for any and all damages, expenses ,including attorney fees, claims, judgments, actions or causes of action as a result of any loss or injury to the person or property that I or my child may sustain or suffer while using any facilities on or off campus or in any way associated with participating in the activity, unless it is due to willful fault or gross negligence on the part of Hagerstown Community College.
